In an effort to accommodate the city's workforce, the City of St. Augustine has announced the availability of parking permits targeting employees in the area. However, spots are filling up quickly. The Mobility and Parking Enforcement Division recently filled all 47 spaces allocated for workforce parking at the Toques Lot, situated at 24 Toques Place.

There's still hope for latecomers though—the city is steering businesses and individuals to apply for a parking permit for the Granada Lot, located at 78 Bridge Street. Additionally, for a brief seasonal period, parking will also be available at the Flagler College Parking Garage on Malaga Street, from December 15, 2025, through January 4, 2026. According to the official City of St. Augustine announcement, interested applicants can download the forms online or visit the Customer Service Department in person at 50 Bridge Street to pick up an application.

Permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis and need to be collected from the Customer Service once the applicant receives notification. These permits are set to expire on September 30, 2026. Spaces at the Granada Street Lot total approximately 148, whereas the Flagler Garage offers around 250 spaces. Granada Street permits allow parking from 6:00pm to 6:00am Monday through Friday and all day on weekends, while the Flagler Garage permits are valid 24/7 during its seasonal availability.

Misusing the parking permit comes at a cost—a $100 fine is slapped on those parked illegally outside of permitted hours. Moreover, any suspicion of the usage outside the scope of program criteria could lead to revocation of the permit. The City of St. Augustine has clearly stated that workforce parking "cannot be utilized for valet parking and/or customer parking and should be used only for shift work employees."
