Driving through St. Charles County come Monday night could hit a snag for commuters, as the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced lane closures for pavement repairs on the westbound I-70 North Outer Road. The segment affected stretches from Fairgrounds/Convention Center Boulevard to Route 94. The roadwork, which is weather dependent, is set for overnight on November 17, MoDOT reports.
Starting at the not so convenient hour of 10 p.m., the right lane and the on-ramp from Convention Center Blvd will be off-limits to traffic. According to MoDOT, the closure is expected to wrap up by the fresh hour of 5 a.m. the following day, reinstating full access. During the closure, the drivers will still have one lane available on the North Outer Road, ensuring that travel will not come to a complete halt.
Those planning to hit the road during those times may want to consider an alternate route or be prepared for possible delays. MoDOT has recommended that motorists stay alert and pay attention to road signs in the area, as well as give themselves extra travel time. Crews will work diligently to minimize disruptions and get the road back to its full capacity as swiftly as possible. Stay tuned to local traffic updates and plan your drive accordingly to steer clear of any surprise hold-ups on your nighttime commute.
