The St. Louis City Museum is reaching out to the public for assistance following a burglary that occurred on the night of November 10. As reported by First Alert 4, surveillance footage captured several men unlawfully entering the museum shortly before midnight. The video shows the assailants inside the museum store, where they are accused of stealing items.
According to details provided by the KSDK, the City Museum's alarm system was activated during the incident, but the suspects had vacated the premises before police arrived. The museum managed to bring humor to the situation in a Facebook post, noting that the thieves took a "self-guided, after-hours tour" and jokingly lamented the lack of payment for the self-tour and items taken. Despite the break-in, no injuries were reported and the museum was able to repair the damage prior to reopening the next day.
Further details from FOX2now highlighted that the entire episode was recorded on the museum's security system, including footage of the men running through the museum's gift store and other areas of the institution. However, the total value of the stolen goods and the full extent of property damage has yet to be determined. Local authorities are actively investigating the incident and are seeking the public's help in identifying the culprits.
Individuals with any relevant information regarding the case have been urged to contact the City Museum at their email address, [email protected], or reach out to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is currently seeking three individuals in relation to the burglary.
