The City of Strongsville is gearing up to quickly spread some holiday cheer with its annual Winter Wonderland Lighting Celebration, a tradition that promises to brightly illuminate the darkening November skies this coming Sunday, Nov. 23. As announced on the City of Strongsville Government's Facebook page, the festivities on the Commons are set to begin at 5:30 p.m., beginning with Mayor Perciak's lighting of the clocktower, tree, and gazebo.
Attendees can expect a holiday fireworks display to quickly follow the lighting ceremony. As described by the City of Strongsville Government's social media post, "There will be a nice holiday fireworks show, then Santa will arrive in town to meet with kids in the gazebo." Keeping with the holiday spirit, the celebration will also feature trolley rides, an ice carver, live reindeer, and complimentary hot chocolate and doughnuts for everyone braving the November chill.
The local Historical Village will join in, simultaneously opening its doors to reveal holiday-themed decorations. The event seems designed not only to entertain but also to foster a sense of community and showcase Strongsville's seasonal splendor. The inclusion of reindeer and trolley rides adds a tactile dimension to the celebrations, promising a blend of whimsy and tradition in this now yearly gathering.
With children eagerly awaiting to meet with Santa Claus in the gazebo and adults likely to enjoy the holiday ambiance, the Strongsville Winter Wonderland Lighting Celebration aims to truly welcome all ages. The city's efforts to seamlessly combine a vibrant community event with the quiet enchantment of the winter holidays are clear — they want to bring together the town in a collective, joyful moment, a sentiment encapsulated when they shared, "Mayor Perciak will light up the clocktower, giant tree and gazebo at 5:30 p.m.," according to the City of Strongsville Government.
