
Law enforcement officials have apprehended a suspect in connection with a recent shooting on Rhode Island Avenue in Northeast. The shooting, which occurred on September 24, did not result in any personal injuries but caused property damage, igniting concerns among local residents, as the Metropolitan Police Department reported earlier today.
The arrest took place on Tuesday, following what has been described as a concerted effort by detectives to swiftly bring the individual to justice. 44-year-old Thomas Jamal Carter, a man of no fixed abode, was apprehended and has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Probation Violation, as outlined in a DC Superior Court Arrest Warrant. The Metropolitan Police Department, working determinedly to ensure the safety of the community, continues to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Along with announcing the arrest, the Metropolitan Police Department asked anyone with more information about the shooting to come forward. The police said the case is still under investigation.
