A suspect led law enforcement on a high-speed chase on Thursday afternoon from Galveston to Houston, reaching speeds over 100 mph. The pursuit involved multiple felony warrants and was handed off from Galveston police to Texas DPS troopers, according to Chron.
The chase ended around 12:30 p.m. on the 610 Loop near Stella Link when the suspect’s vehicle ran out of fuel, as reported by KHOU. Officers boxed in the red Mitsubishi, and the driver surrendered without incident.
ABC13's Helicopter Reporter Don Armstrong covered a police chase in Houston, describing the driver as "impressive," and saying it was "rare it is for a chase in Houston to happen during broad daylight, especially a nail-biting one like this," as per Chron. The driver tried to evade officers, but the chase ended without injuries or other incidents. More details are expected as the story develops.
