Last Thursday at midnight, Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies responded to a burglary attempt at a Tampa business. The department's social media post stated that the incident occurred on North Dale Mabry Highway, where surveillance footage captured a suspect entering the premises without authorization.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Jacob Grimm, was reportedly captured on camera entering the building before disappearing from view. Deputies, assisted by their K9 Unit, arrived on the scene and, after issuing several commands, Grimm surrendered without incident. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, he was taken into custody and now faces charges of Armed Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure.
The Sheriff's Office released an official statement yesterday confirming the arrest, highlighting the effectiveness of their response and the role of their trained K9 Unit in ensuring the suspect’s peaceful surrender.
This incident adds to a series of recent break-ins in the Hillsborough area. Grimm is currently being processed, and details regarding his motives or any prior criminal history have not been released. The Sheriff's Office has not confirmed whether any stolen items were recovered or if this arrest is linked to other burglaries in the area.
