According to KENS5, authorities responded to a call at the motel located on the 1000 block of South Laredo, where they discovered the body of a woman in her 50s. A 50-year-old man was also found at the scene, wounded but alive, swiftly taken to a local hospital and is now in stable condition. The man is suspected to have attempted to take his own life after allegedly committing murder.
The call to police came around 1 p.m. Monday after a family member's outcry prompted a welfare check. Once on site, officers had to quickly assess and control what they had initially anticipated might be an active suicide in progress. The man's self-inflicted injuries, reported by Fox San Antonio to include a wound to his arm, point to a volatile situation that police are piecing together piece by piece.
As the investigation unfolds, the San Antonio Police Department is processing the motel room in search of evidence, including any weapons used in the incident.
