An incident of serial theft culminated in an arrest last week at a local Target store. The Harris County Constable's Office reported that deputies were called to the Target at 19511 North Freeway on October 30, due to a theft that was currently in motion. Sidney Green, the suspect apprehended on the scene, was found to have stolen merchandise valued at around $80 and attempted to leave the store without making an attempt to pay, according to a Facebook post by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
Investigations concluded that this was not the first brush with the law for Green. Harris County Constable Precinct 4 revealed that Green had accumulated two prior theft convictions, which ultimately elevated the misdemeanor incident to a status of felony theft. Additionally, deputies unearthed an open felony warrant for Green, stemming from Harris County—related, notably, to theft with two prior convictions.
Constable Mark Herman shared the outcome of the arrest on social media, stating, "Sidney Green was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for felony theft and the open warrant. His bond was set at $10,000.00 out of the 496th District Court," as stated by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
