Anne Arundel County police have taken a man into custody following a double-fatal shooting in Pasadena that left a married couple dead. The incident took place inside a residence on the 1700 block of Twickenham Road, where 56-year-old William Hayes and his 54-year-old wife Jenna Hayes were found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead on scene around 1:55 p.m. yesterday, as per a report from Fox Baltimore.
The couple's adult granddaughter, who also lived in the home, was not present at the time of the incident. In a statement detailed by WBALTV, Toni Arnold, connected to the victims, expressed disbelief over the tragic event, grateful that her daughter had left the house shortly before the shooting.
Authorities identified 61-year-old Anthony Lewis Reyes from Nottingham as a suspect early in the investigation. Reyes, who allegedly had both a personal and business relationship with the victims, was apprehended after a police chase that ended near Quarterfield Road on Route 97. According to a WBALTV interview, Anne Arundel County police Chief Amal Awad detailed that the community could "rest a bit more tonight" knowing that the suspect was in custody.
