
An attempted bank robbery in Maricopa ended with the quick arrest of a suspect, according to officials. Around 11:55 a.m. yesterday, police responded to a reported robbery at a Chase Bank where the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Cesar Sanchez, allegedly passed a threatening note to a bank employee.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the note stated that Sanchez was armed and demanded money. Police located and detained him within minutes near the bank. Employees later confirmed to officers that he was the person involved in the attempted robbery.
The Maricopa Police Department said no one was injured during the incident. Officers reported that Sanchez fled the scene but was found nearby matching the suspect’s description.
The FBI is assisting in the ongoing investigation, according to 12 News. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Maricopa Police Department at 520-316-6800. Sanchez remains in custody.
