As the nation prepares to honor its military service members, Tampa's city life will pause in some respects for Veterans Day. No garbage trucks will roll down the streets next Tuesday, as the City of Tampa has announced a suspension of residential and commercial collection services for the day.
Tampa residents are advised to plan accordingly, as they will have to wait until their next scheduled pickup day to dispose of their trash. According to the same City of Tampa announcement, the McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House will also shut their doors on Veterans Day, resuming regular operations the following day.
City offices will close in observance of the federal holiday, bringing a quietness to the bureaucratic hustle that usually hums through Tampa's corridors. For those who have concerns or queries regarding the amended schedule, Tampa Utilities Call Center remains reachable at (813) 274-8811, or residents can find additional information on the city’s website.
