Authorities are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery in Queens, during which a teenager was forced to withdraw money from a bank. According to a social media post by NYPD Crimestoppers, the incident occurred last Wednesday on the northbound “E” train platform at the Union Turnpike–Kew Gardens Subway Station. The victim, a 17-year-old male, was reportedly asking for directions when the suspect displayed a firearm and demanded money.

The suspect threatened the victim after he initially refused to comply and then directed him to a nearby Chase Bank on Queens Boulevard to withdraw cash. The suspect took approximately $140 before fleeing north on Queens Boulevard. 

The NYPD has not yet released any information concerning the identity of the suspect. NYPD Crimestoppers is asking anyone with information to contact them via direct message or by calling their hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
