
Authorities have apprehended a teenage suspect in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Northeast Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department reported that the incident occurred on Sunday, when a victim was attempting to sell their scooter on the 200 block of 20th Street, Northeast. According to the department's press release, two individuals approached, weapons in hand, and demanded the scooter's keys. The victim managed to escape, and police later captured one of the suspects following the incident.
The Metropolitan Police Department identified the arrested individual as a 17-year-old male from the Northwest area of D.C. He has been charged with Armed Robbery (Gun). The arrest was made without further details provided about the second suspect involved in the attempted robbery. Community members with any information pertaining to the crime are encouraged by authorities to come forward, with up to a $10,000 reward being offered for tips leading to an arrest and conviction, as detailed by the MPD release.
