The Metropolitan Police Department is currently deep in an investigation into a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy in Southeast, Washington, D.C. The victim, identified as Tristan Johnson, was found injured after a shooting incident that occurred on November 8.

According to a release from the MPD, officers from the First District were called to the 1900 block of C Street, Southeast, following reports of gunfire at around 2:56 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Johnson, still conscious and breathing, albeit suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the urgent attention and transport provided by DC Fire and EMS to an area hospital, Johnson succumbed to his injuries after exhaustive lifesaving efforts.

He was a resident of the area where the incident took place. In the wake of the tragedy, MPD has extended a reward of up to $25,000 for information that could lead to an arrest and conviction in this case.
