The Lone Star State continues to shine in the business world, with Texas being named America's Top Business Climate for the third consecutive year. In an announcement made by Governor Greg Abbott and celebrated on the state's official website, Texas boasts its position as an economic powerhouse, attributing its success to a blend of business-friendly legislation and strategic investments.
Abbott, in a statement posted on the Governor's website, claimed, "Texas once again emerges as the national champion for the top business climate in America." He credited the state's success to its freedom and opportunity, which he believes are instrumental in helping businesses of various industries and sizes to not only succeed but also to thrive more prosperously.
A significant driver of Texas' top ranking by Site Selection magazine is the state's ability to attract job-creating corporate relocations and expansions. This is further complemented by a predictable regulatory environment and access to technology and tech talent. The state has also been proactive in improving infrastructure and workforce development, which has played a crucial role in maintaining its business-enticing allure.
The distinction comes on the heels of Texas winning the Site Selection magazine's Governor's Cup earlier this year, an achievement recognizing the state's lead in job creation through business relocations and expansions for a record 13th time in a row. Adding to this winning streak, Texas also secured the 2025 Prosperity Cup. Abbott emphasized that his state will continue to make strategic investments and partner with job-creating businesses, ensuring Texas's position as a preferred destination for commercial pursuits.
Further cementing its reputation, Texas scored favorably in a survey of corporate real estate executives and site selectors. The state earned top marks in this field as well, surpassing other U.S. states. This survey is a critical component of the ranking criteria laid out by Site Selection magazine, spotlighting Texas's consistent performance in attracting new business and investment.
