
A devastating car accident in Apopka, Florida, claimed the lives of three teenagers and left three others with serious injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Early yesterday morning, a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado veered off the road and collided with a tree, followed by a rollover. According to ClickOrlando, the collision occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Welch Road and Wekiwa Drive.
The driver of the vehicle was a 17-year-old boy who, along with two passengers, also teenage boys from the local area, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Three other teenage passengers perished in the crash, two at the site and one later at AdventHealth Apopka, with WESH reporting that the crash remains under investigation by authorities.
Meanwhile, a community grieves as Orange County School Board member Melissa Byrd expressed her heartache. "Our Apopka and OCPS community suffered a devastating loss today when three of our students lost their lives in a tragic automobile accident in Apopka. Please pray for Apopka High School and Kelly Park School K-8 as both these schools work through this loss," Byrd stated on social media, as reported by WESH.
