Brandon residents and those passing through South Kings Avenue should prepare for a shift in their commute. Starting Monday night, utility work is necessitating traffic changes that will be in effect until the early days of April. Per an announcement from Hillsborough County, the northbound lanes of Kings Avenue from Buckhorn Creek Road to Greenbriar Drive will see alterations designed to enable necessary infrastructure updates.

Motorists are being advised to expect delays as traffic in both directions on South Kings Avenue will be squeezed into a single lane through the intersection at West Bloomingdale Avenue. Turn lanes from South Kings Avenue southbound turning east onto Bloomingdale Avenue, and northbound turning west, will also be impacted. According to Hillsborough County's news release, the changes will be accompanied by re-timed traffic signals to better deal with the new traffic patterns.
