John Siggers, the owner of Siggers Hairdressers in Tucker, Georgia, has found himself at the center of legal turmoil. He faces two counts of sexual battery and is embroiled in a civil lawsuit alleging years of sexual harassment and assault at his salon. Fox 5 Atlanta reported that the charges are based on separate reports made to law enforcement in 2023 and 2024. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Siggers was arrested last Friday and later released from DeKalb County Jail.

Meanwhile, a civil lawsuit, which was filed in August, accuses Siggers of preying upon a former employee between 2023 and 2025, during her time as a cosmetology apprentice. Allegations include using financial vulnerability and his position to coerce her into unwanted sexual acts, threatening her job and income. "This is an egregious case of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and battery in violation of federal and state law," reads a statement obtained by 11Alive. The lawsuit details how Siggers kept an office and an apartment in the salon’s basement, which was reportedly used to isolate the apprentice, where basement cameras were covered while Siggers would monitor the salon floor through security feeds.

The alleged behavior went beyond staff, with multiple former employees attesting to Siggers' inappropriate conduct such as touching women without consent and verbal coercion. A customer even described misconduct dating back to 2020. Solicitor-General Donna Coleman-Stribling of the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office stated her office “will move forward with a full and impartial investigation consistent with Georgia law, the facts, and the evidence presented,” as reported by 11Alive.

Furthermore, the same lawsuit implicates Carol Siggers, who served as CFO and Secretary, alleging that she had knowledge of her husband's behavior and did not take meaningful action. The civil action targets not only John Siggers, but also John DeKalb, Inc. d/b/a Siggers Hairdressers, and Siggers Real Estate Holdings, LLC, for negligent hiring, retention, and supervision. "The lawsuit also states a different employee quit after three days," and filed a police report, alleging Siggers tried to undress and grope her, according to details described in 11Alive. The plaintiff is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, and attorneys’ fees. As the legal process unfolds, a gag order motion is pending, filed by Siggers' defense team.
