Volusia County authorities have apprehended two Orlando men, both 18 years old, for their alleged involvement in shooting into a Deltona home following a failed attempt at breaking in. This development stems from an incident that occurred early in the morning, almost a week prior, according to a report from ClickOrlando. Last Wednesday, a group of four attempted to forcefully enter a residence on Wainwright Street at about 4 a.m. A doorbell camera captured footage of the suspects trying to force their way through the door. Shots were fired at the home after their unsuccessful break-in attempt, and then the assailants fled the scene by car.
After the incident, deputies spotted the suspects’ vehicle on I-4. They engaged in a chase that carried on into Orange County, although the pursuit was eventually abandoned after losing track of the suspects’ vehicle. The Volusia Sheriff's Office indicated, as obtained by Orlando-News.com, the inquiry is still active and ongoing, and no injuries were reported as a consequence of the gunfire.
Identified as Jamar Re’Shaun Battle and James Jermaine Cropper, Jr., the apprehended suspects carry an extensive criminal history, with a combined total of 60 felony charges and about 20 misdemeanors. Both were taken into custody and are being held at Orange County Jail without bond, subsequent to their latest arrests.
