On Oct. 20, Providence Division officers were called to the scene of a Common Law Robbery in the 2200 block of Park Road, according to a recent post by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Facebook page. It turns out that a confrontation turned physical when a store employee who had the nerve to challenge the individuals attempting to leave with unpaid merchandise was allegedly assaulted.
Further digging into this street-side scuffle by the officers led to identifying Andre Desmond Davis, 20, and Darnell Montraite Davis, 39, as the suspects involved in this clash. Ten days later, last Thursday, detectives conducted voluntary interviews with both men. At the interviews' conclusion, the pair found themselves in handcuffs, being transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office's care.
The duo, who share more than just their alleged inclination toward robbery, were slapped with charges of Common Law Robbery and Second Degree Kidnapping. We learn from the report number 20251020-2154-03 that the store employee was caught in the turmoil that the suspects unleashed, fleeing post-haste once their actions met resistance.
