
Two individuals are in custody following an overnight shooting in Norman that left one man in critical condition. The suspects, identified as 48-year-old Jeremy Payne and 28-year-old Brandy Webb, were arrested by the Norman Police Department after the incident, which took place early Tuesday morning, as per the City of Norman news release.
Officers were called to the scene on the 14000 block of E. Imhoff Road at approximately 12:59 a.m., where they discovered a 41-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was quickly transported to an area hospital, according to the City of Norman's website. Preliminary findings suggest that Payne and Webb had planned to forcibly rob the victim, an interaction that escalated to shots being fired.
Payne was located and apprehended nearby shortly after the officers' search, taken into custody without further incident. He was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and conjoint robbery, while Webb was booked on a complaint of conjoint robbery.
