
Two officers from the Titusville Police Department sustained injuries in a vehicular accident while in the line of duty today. According to WESH, the incident took place on Hopkins Avenue near Acorn Avenue and occurred as the officers were responding to a gun call.
One of the officers, caught in the throes of urgency, was airlifted to a trauma center. The other one, in response to the same call, was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, WFTV reported. The current conditions of the officers have not been publicly disclosed yet.
As a result of the crash, the Titusville PD has issued an advisory to the public, requesting drivers to avoid S Hopkins Avenue between Birch Street and Pritchard Street. The police department is in the midst of investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
