The collegiate athletic stage has been lighted up this fall by UC Clermont's impressive cadre of players, who apparently set their sights on dominating the season—and dominantly so. According to a recent report by the University of Cincinnati, both the women's volleyball and the women's soccer teams clinched national championships, with the men's soccer team grabbing a runner-up finish at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II National Championship. The women’s soccer team, not content with resting on past laurels, managed a three-peat, showcasing a level of consistency that has become a hallmark of the college's athletic prowess.
Marking their third consecutive national title, the women's soccer team defeated NHTI with a solid 3-1 victory. Coach Kemar Jackson was full of praise for his team, remarking in a statement obtained by the University of Cincinnati, "The girls wanted to write their names in the history books," adding, "They were committed to each other and believed in the coaching staff and our plan to accomplish our goal." Wanted to capture their third title in a row, the team's resolve was clear from the get-go and through adversity they faced throughout the season.
Not to be outdone, the women’s volleyball team snatched its second volleyball national title after overcoming Kent State-Tuscarawas in a nail-biting four-set final. "This was a special win with an amazing group of special young ladies," Head Coach Josh Hamer told the University of Cincinnati, evidently moved by the success of the team, which also saw triumph over the same Kent State three times in the regular season, making this victory even more poignant given their past tournament upset.
While not clinching the title, the UC Clermont men’s soccer team made a historic run to the championship match, building on the foundation laid during their first national tournament appearance in 2022. "These guys have helped build this program to what it is now," Head Coach Avery Patton shared in an interview with the University of Cincinnati, proudly reflecting on a season that saw them become national runners-up, a significant achievement in the scope of the program's history. These accomplishments collectively signal a golden era for UC Clermont athletics, as noted by Athletic Director Brian Sullivan, who witnessed the teams put in "countless hours," reaping the brightest of rewards in the golden hues of victory and honor.
Indeed, this trifecta of success has bolstered UC Clermont's total national titles to a dazzling dozen, marking a semester that will resonate in the college's annals for years to come. As the USCAA continues to serve as a competitive stage for more than 80 member institutions since its inception in 2001, UC Clermont’s latest triumphs further cement its reputation as an athletic powerhouse worth watching in future seasons.
