
A grim discovery was made earlier today in Walnut Grove as a man's body was pulled from the Sacramento River near the region of Steamboat Slough, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were called to the scene at around 10:45 a.m. following a report of a body seen floating in the water close by Grand Island Road, as reported by ABC10.
Shortly after the call was made to authorities the Walnut Grove Fire Protection District, alongside the Coast Guard and the sheriff's marine units, arrived for recovery efforts of the unnamed man. KCRA noted the joint response in their report, without giving further details on the deceased or next of kin.
Investigators have yet to release information regarding the deceased man's identity, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. Authorities have not yet determined whether foul play was involved in his death.
