As reported by WPXI, Pennsylvania State Police responded to a distress call at a home yesterday regarding a man who had been run over and pinned beneath a wheel. The initial investigation suggests that the deceased had pulled into his driveway and unfortunately did not secure the vehicle in a parked position.
The sequence of events appeared to quickly unravel as the vehicle, unhampered by the parking brake, began to fatally drift backward. The open driver's side door is believed to have dragged the man to the ground, where he was subsequently caught under the tire. According to a CBS News report, family members and a passerby intervened to free the man before law enforcement arrived at the scene.
Emergency services later transported the man to Uniontown Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
