The University of Cincinnati has recently honored four individuals with the 2025 Daniel Drake Medals for their significant contributions to medicine. The ceremony, held at the Queen City Club last Saturday, celebrated the achievements of Mary C. Mahoney, MD; Francis X. McCormack Jr., MD; Anil Menon, PhD; and Jeffery D. Molkentin, PhD. These recipients have been credited with advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care.
During the event, Gregory C. Postel, MD, dean of the College of Medicine, praised the winners for their dedication and impact in the medical field. "The 2025 Daniel Drake Medal recipients truly represent the highest caliber of medical excellence, innovation and unwavering commitment to our mission," he said. Each laureate has made significant strides in their respective fields, according to a statement obtained by University of Cincinnati News.
The Daniel Drake Medal is not just any accolade—it's a recognition of those who have left an indelible mark on the landscape of medical education, scholarship, and research. The medal has been awarded annually since 1985 and honors the legacy of Daniel Drake, MD, the founder of the Medical College of Ohio, now known as the UC College of Medicine.
