In broad daylight on a Vallejo street corner, police officers initiated what would unfold to be a significant seizure of weapons and narcotics. The incident, which occurred last Thursday at approximately 12:50 PM, involved law enforcement conducting a traffic stop at the intersection of 5th Street and Lemon Street after spotting a black Mercedes-Benz without its front license plate, a clear violation of the California Vehicle Code.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the Vallejo Police Department officers made contact with the two male occupants; the driver, hailing from Fairfield, was found to not only lack a valid driver's license but was also actively under CDCR parole. Known to have a past with felony charges for possession of a firearm and eluding peace officers, this prompted police to search the vehicle thoroughly. It's not every day that a routine stop leads officers to eventually uncover a backpack filled with controlled substances and their measurement accompaniments, a digital scale, alongside marijuana and an approximate 8 grams of cocaine, according to a Vallejo Police Department's social media post.

Not stopping at the vehicle's contents, the officers also conducted a pat-down of the passenger from Vallejo. The search led to the retrieval of an unregistered loaded firearm tucked in his waistband. Following his rights being read, the passenger claimed that the driver had passed him the weapon, with explicit instructions to get rid of it.

After the investigation, both individuals found themselves arrested, with the driver's charges including the sale of narcotics, firearm possession by a felon, and a parole violation. The passenger faced charges related to the hidden firearm. Both were booked into Solano County Jail. The findings, drugs, firearm, ammunition, were seized and booked into evidence, while the Mercedes-Benz was towed, as detailed by the Vallejo PD's report
