Last night, a SWAT team conducted a raid at a Northwest Side Motel 6 in San Antonio in connection with a suspected early-morning kidnapping. The operation, which took place around 11 p.m., led to one person being detained and the rescue of the victim, Destiny Ferdin. She was transported to a hospital in stable condition, Fox San Antonio reports.
Police reported that Destiny Ferdin was kidnapped around 5:30 a.m. from a home on Labor Street. Authorities said a 35-year-old man, who had previously been in a relationship with the victim, forced her into a white 2000 Dodge Ram and drove away. During the SWAT raid at the motel, snipers were positioned on a nearby Wendy’s roof, and flash bangs were deployed as officers entered the room, according to KENS 5.
Following Destiny Ferdin’s abduction, police issued a CLEAR Alert for her. Law enforcement responded to the Motel 6 with SWAT vehicles and staged a tactical operation in the parking lot, while an ambulance was positioned nearby.
Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity or potential charges, and the investigation into the events leading up to the raid is ongoing. Video from the scene showed numerous officers securing the area and preparing to enter the barricaded room. Officials have not provided additional details on the victim’s condition or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
