Washington State Patrol is currently on the lookout for witnesses following a hit-and-run incident involving a car and a pedestrian in Renton earlier this week. The collision occurred on SR 900 near 164th Ave SE at around 9:30 pm last Wednesday, according to official reports. After striking the pedestrian, who was later transported to the hospital, the driver reportedly fled the scene and was last seen heading south on SE May Valley Road.
Investigators have been working to gather evidence and are now asking the public to come forward with any information. The suspect's vehicle is believed to be a silver or gray Honda Accord from model years 2018 to 2022. It likely sustained damage during the incident, notably losing its passenger side mirror. Troopers have yet to track down the vehicle or the driver, and it's crucial to quickly come forward with details that may lead to an arrest and offer some measure of justice to the victim.
The Washington State Patrol is urging anyone who might have been in the area, who might have seen the collision, or who knows a vehicle fitting the description with recent damage, to reach out. A car with a missing passenger side mirror should be relatively identifiable, and community members can play a key role in aiding the investigation.
In the meantime, the victim's condition and identity have not been publicly released, as the investigation continues.
