Bay Area commuters should prepare for major weekend closures in Bellevue and Bothell as Washington State Department of Transportation shuts down southbound I-405 between Coal Creek Parkway SE and NE 30th Street from 11:30 p.m. on November 7 to 4 a.m. on November 10 for the I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project. Additional overnight lane closures will occur in Kirkland for retaining wall work, while SR 522 in Bothell will also close overnight for new traffic signal installations, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Eastbound SR 522 at I-405 will be closed from 11 p.m. on Friday to 4 a.m. on Saturday, with both directions shutting down at 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday nights, reopening at 4 a.m. each morning. Detour routes will be available but "cannot accommodate normal I-405 traffic volume," so drivers should plan for delays, as reported by the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Eastbound I-90 will be closed between Rainier Avenue South and 76th Avenue Southeast from 10 p.m. on Friday to 6 a.m. on Saturday, for fire suppression and emergency systems testing and other maintenance.
