Following a significant crash yesterday that resulted in an overturned vehicle, traffic along westbound Interstate 4 near Orange Blossom Trail was brought to a standstill. As reported by ClickOrlando, the disruption, which lasted several hours, forced the closure of all lanes, with drivers being rerouted to Exit 80 on U.S. 441. As commuters were detoured, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) provided alternative routes to assist in resuming travel on the I-4 corridor from Conroy Road or Michigan Avenue.
In response to the incident, the FDOT recommended that drivers seeking to continue on westbound I-4 could re-enter the interstate from U.S. 441, just past the point of the closure, as stated in a WFTV report.
Fortunately, by 7 p.m. last night, all lanes of Interstate 4 were reported to have reopened, as per an update from FL511. The announcement brought a sigh of relief to those stuck in traffic and those planning their evening commute.
