The holiday spirit is making its way to White Settlement, where the local Police Department is inviting the town's younger residents to showcase their artistic skills in their annual Christmas Card Contest. In an effort to stir up some festive community engagement, the department has put a call out for kids to design Christmas cards that will be distributed to police chiefs across the nation and their community partners.
As detailed in a social media post by the White Settlement Police Department, this creative contest is open to children of various age groups, falling into four separate categories: 3-4 years old, 5-7 years old, 8-10 years old, and a special category for kids with learning differences, ensuring an inclusive opportunity for all young artists to participate. "Each year, the department prepares a Christmas card to share with partner agencies. Just like last year, we need your kids’ creativity to design the Christmas cards that will be sent to police chiefs across the country and our community partners," the department described the initiative.
The law enforcement agency is anticipating a host of colorful submissions with Corporal Laura Gonzalez handling the influx of potential masterpieces sent to her at [email protected]. With the deadline set for November 21, participants have a brief window to channel their inner Picassos and bring vibrant holiday cheer to life. Winners will be declared on November 26, and the selected few will not only have the honor of their designs becoming the official WSPD Christmas cards but also receive recognition from Police Chief Chris Cook in the form of a challenge coin and a variety of special goodies.
