Wilmington Police recently made an arrest in connection with a stabbing that occurred earlier this month, according to official reports. The incident unfolded on November 10, around 4:16 p.m., when officers from the Special Operations Division were called to the 1300 block of Washington Street. A 30-year-old male victim was found and subsequently treated at a local hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. The case swiftly fell into the hands of Detective Michael Chambers of the Criminal Investigations Division, according to the Wilmington Police Department.
Through diligent work, Detective Chambers was quickly able to identify 44-year-old Charles Ray as the prime suspect, working to rapidly obtain an arrest warrant. The Wilmington police force proceeded to execute a search warrant on Wednesday, at a residence located in the 400 block of McCabe Avenue. Ray was arrested without incident, as reported by the Wilmington Police Department.
Following his arrest, Charles Ray is now facing a series of charges, which include First Degree Assault, Third Degree Assault, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, and Reckless Endangering of the First Degree. The consequences of his alleged actions were spelled out in his arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 20. Ray was then committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, with the judge setting his bail at $41,500, cash-only, as per the Wilmington Police Department.
