
In the early hours of Monday, tragedy occurred at the intersection of Stelzer and Codet roads in the northeast, where a catastrophic crash claimed the life of a woman and left another individual hospitalized. According to ABC 6 On Your Side, the driver lost control of the vehicle, veering off the road and colliding with a pole. Twenty-year-old Tamya Barnett was identified as the passenger who succumbed to her injuries at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Struggling to maintain control, the driver was also taken to Mount Carmel East and is reportedly stable.
As reported by CW Columbus, the crash not only took a life but also led to the closure of several streets around the crash site. Local law enforcement is piecing together the events that led to the deadly accident, trying to unearth what caused the driver to meet with such an unfortunate fate.
Additional details gathered from a dispatcher by WBNS reveal the crash took place around 2:45 a.m. near Easton Town Center. While it remains unclear what triggered the collision, the aftermath was a grim affair: one individual rushed to the hospital in critical condition only to be pronounced dead at 3:23 a.m., and another was described as stable after being transported for medical attention.
