It's clear that the Woman’s Club, with its long-standing heritage since 1967 has more than a knack for nurturing not only the youth of Grand Prairie through scholarships and supportive measures for children in need but they also have an eye for the arboreal giants that grace the city's skyline, their chosen tree captured the hearts and scores of the competition's judges for its notable height, its striking presence, and its undeniably vigorous health.
While the Grandest Tree Competition might highlight a singular specimen of nature's grand design, it also casts a wider net, celebrating the lush diversity evident within Grand Prairie’s leafy bounds; the contest welcomes all categories of urban green from the sprawling oak to the whimsical pecan, each vying for recognition based on characteristics of height, girth, age, shape, and vitality, echoing the city's commitment to recognizing the vitality and diversity of its green spaces.
