
An 18-year-old was shot in the hand in northwest Baltimore, and a person of interest is now in custody. The incident took place last night in the Lucille Park area.
The Baltimore Police Department responded to a call at about 7:42 p.m. in the 3000 block of Ridgewood Avenue, the scene of the shooting, said authorities. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with a gunshot wound. The unnamed young man received prompt medical attention and was taken to a local hospital for what have been reported as non-life-threatening injuries. While investigating the scene, police detained a person of interest, Baltimore Witness reported.
As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the identities of both the victim and the person of interest have not been released. Northwest District Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances of the shooting and have requested that anyone with information come forward.
