In a tragic incident, a hit-and-run crash claimed the life of a pedestrian on a west Phoenix street early Saturday morning. According to ABC15, Phoenix Police were called to the intersection of 35th and Grand avenues at approximately 5 a.m. on Saturday, where they discovered a man suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Despite the efforts of the fire department who responded swiftly, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Detailed in a report by FOX10 Phoenix, the victim was identified as 53-year-old Victor Mendoza. Witnesses told police about the vehicle, described as a small sedan, which is believed to have sped through a red light, striking Mendoza as he was properly crossing in a crosswalk.
