Following a meticulous operation, Tyvine Jones, aged 25, identified as an alleged gang member and hitman, has been arrested by the Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force. According to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service, Jones was captured at the Stratford Court Apartments on Lansdowne Avenue in Delaware County, where he was believed to be hiding.
Wanted for three murders occurring across Philadelphia between August 2020 and September 2022, Jones allegedly played a pivotal role in the deaths of three young individuals – ages 16, 20, and 23, as per the U.S. Marshals Service. These acts of violence, all involving gunshots, placed him on the city's "Most Wanted" list. It wasn't until an anonymous tip came in that federal and local law enforcement could close in at approximately 8:30 am, leading to Jones’ arrest. Upon discovery, Jones capitulated to investigators without a free-standing incident.
Eric Gartner, U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, acknowledged the significance of the arrest, stating, “Tyvine Jones was one of Philadelphia’s 'Most Wanted' for his role in the murder of three individuals between 2020 and 2022. Together with our Philadelphia PD and other partners, our commitment to the citizens of Philadelphia remains steadfast: the relentless pursuit of violent fugitives such as Tyvine Jones, whose unrestrained existence serves only to diminish our great city,” as detailed in the U.S. Marshals Service announcement.
The task force responsible for Jones' arrest consists of a collaboration among various law enforcement agencies, including the Philadelphia Police Department, Pennsylvania State Parole Officers, and the Pennsylvania State Police, among others.
