American Airlines will add new daily flights between Las Vegas and Chicago beginning in February 2026, increasing peak daily departures on the route to six. “But the impact of service to Chicago goes far beyond the city itself to connect Las Vegas to communities across the globe and give travelers more access to American’s expansive global network and beyond,” said Franco Tedeschi, American’s Vice President of Domestic Airports and Strategic Partnerships, in an interview with 8 News Now.
The airline also plans to add about 100 more departures from Chicago O’Hare ahead of spring break, including expanded service to Florida destinations such as Orlando, Fort Myers, Sarasota-Bradenton, Pensacola, and Panama City, along with additional Las Vegas flights. The expansion will increase the total number of destinations served from O’Hare this spring to 75.
American Airlines is increasing operations at Chicago O’Hare International Airport as part of its 100th anniversary. Vice Chair and Chief Strategy Officer Steve Johnson said, “We're committed to rebuilding our Chicago hub to be stronger and more compelling for our customers, and our 2026 plans are both emblematic of that objective and an exciting way to end a year defined by bold growth and investment at ORD,” as per CBS News Chicago. The airline is adding daily flights on routes including Chicago–Las Vegas, extending summer seasonal service to international destinations such as Paris and Dublin, and expanding peak operations at O’Hare to more than 500 daily departures, a 30% increase compared to last spring. Tickets for the new flights are available on American’s mobile app and website.
