The Antioch Police Department has announced a tragic turn in a case that began in mid-November. Frank Troia, the victim of an attack that took place on November 18, succumbed to his injuries yesterday. According to an update by the Antioch Police Department, the initial charges against the suspect, Brandon Rowlett, will now be amended to murder under Penal Code section 187.

On a November morning in Antioch, an incident took place resulting in Rowlett's arrest in connection with Troia's critical injuries. After emergency calls at approximately 2:46 AM, officers responding to Lone Tree Way and W. Tregallas Road have found Troia in the roadway, who appeared to have been in a physical altercation. The Investigations Bureau, diligently processing evidence and pursuing leads, continues its probe into the circumstances of the incident.

Brandon Rowlett, 34, was initially detained on charges related to the attempted homicide. In the early hours before the altercation, which left 59-year-old Troia in a precarious state of health, the community felt the weight of an encroaching violence that has since culminated in death.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities have not yet articulated the motive behind the incident. In a press release obtained by Hoodline, the department maintains the integrity of what remains an active investigation.
