A 21-year-old man, Dominic Frye, has been charged with DUI manslaughter following a traffic collision in Apollo Beach that killed a 16-year-old girl. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Facebook account reported the incident occurred on Friday last week, around 5:14 p.m.
Frye ran a stop sign at the intersection of Covington Garden Drive and 30th Street Northeast and collided with the passenger side of a sedan carrying a mother and her daughter. The 16-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Frye was arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter and driving under the influence with property damage or personal injury. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to review the circumstances of the collision.
