As the year winds down, Arlington plays host to a suite of holiday festivities that infuse the air with a yuletide spirit and provide entertainment for families at no charge. The City of Arlington has released a lineup of events from Dec. 17 through Dec. 23, highlighting a mix of traditional and jubilant occasions designed for attendees of all ages, as per an announcement on the city's official website.
A mainstay of the season, the Interlochen Lights, beckons visitors to explore a canvas of twinkling décor adorning the homes of nearly 200 residents in one of North Texas' most lively neighborhoods. According to Matt Boyd of the Arlington Office of Communication, this spectacle runs from December 13 to the 25, offering a drive-through experience that launches at nightfall and glimmers until 10 p.m. every evening. Meanwhile, the Texas Christkindl Market presents an array of stalls that are a feast for the senses, pulling from the heartwarming customs of German markets. It opens its doors daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. just outside Globe Life Field until the twilight of its 2025 season on Dec. 23.
For the budding intellects and young at heart, the Arlington Public Library will deliver a delightful Tottie Lynn Storytime at the Dottie Lynn Recreation Center on Friday, Dec. 19, at 9:30 a.m. With an aim to instill a passion for reading through engagement with stories, rhymes, and songs, the event is pegged for those between 2-4 years, yet remains openly inviting to any age group willing to share in the joy. The event promises to be a nurturing environment for families.
