According to the City of Arlington, golfers and non-golfers alike can get into the giving spirit by donating new, unwrapped toys for Mission Arlington’s Christmas Store. Donors have until December 21 to contribute to the festive drive at any of the city's four public golf courses.
For those looking to generously slice off their expenses, donors can take advantage of a 15% discount on their green fee and cart. Not to be left strictly to those who putter around, non-golfer philanthropists are to perfectly enjoy a similar 15% savings on non-sale merchandise at any Arlington Golf Shop, as well as 10% off at select on-site eateries. Whether it's at Tierra Verde Golf Club or Texas Rangers Golf Club, among others, discounts are being teed up for those participating in the toy drive.
The participating golf courses include the picturesque Tierra Verde Golf Club at 7005 Golf Club Drive, the home-run Texas Rangers Golf Club at 701 Brown Blvd., the classic Lake Arlington Golf Course at 1516 W. Green Oaks Blvd., and the historic Meadowbrook Park Golf Course at 1300 E. Dugan St. Each location promises to serve as a drop point for both donations and deals.
While the primary aim is to collect at least 100 toys per location, the initiative also serves to remind us that indulging in a round of golf or relishing a meal at the Ventana Grille or Home Plate Restaurant can be more than just par for the course—it can genuinely make a difference in a child's holiday season.
