According to FOX 5 Atlanta, around 5:52 a.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot on the 3900 block of Cornell Boulevard SW.
On arrival, police discovered 30-year-old Darryl Long with an apparent gunshot wound. Sadly, medical personnel pronounced Long dead at the scene. While the victim has been identified, details concerning the sequences of events leading up to the fatal shooting remain scant. Investigators are yet to disclose if anyone else was involved or the number of shots that were fired. They have also not confirmed who made the 911 call or if Long resided in the area where his body was found.
