The Aurora Police Department recently announced a significant breakthrough in a nonfatal shooting case from last November. According to the Aurora Police Department, in a social media post, their Gun Violence Suppression Team apprehended a suspect, Christopher "Sandwich" Cole, connected to a violent argument about money that escalated quickly into firearm use. On the 4th of November, the argument at an apartment complex on East Jewell Avenue boiled over, and officers later discovered the victim had self-transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Detectives worked swiftly to piece the scene together and found that words had turned, perhaps not unpredictably, to violence. Christopher Cole, or "Sandwich", turned out to surprisingly choose a firearm over a fist despite his moniker, which might have suggested otherwise. The investigation led to Cole's apprehension in Denver, where he was discovered by the Fugitive Apprehension and Narcotics Unit with the help of the FBI - Denver Safe Streets Task Force, and he was taken into custody while apparently armed.
The Aurora Police Department emphasized that, regardless of the nickname, using a gun in an argument is a serious offense. "We can joke about the nickname but shooting someone is no laughing matter," the Aurora Police Department remarked. The suspect, Cole, now faces the legal repercussions of his actions with his bond set at $500,000.
