Calling all Austinites with a heart for four-legged friends and community safety – the city is laying out a welcome mat for residents to meet the top candidates in line for the role of Austin Animal Services Director. As per the City of Austin, the public meet-and-greet event will be hosted on December 18 at the Permitting and Development Center.
Providing an evening of dialogue and introductions, the event begins at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30. Attendees will have the chance to meet the finalists, ask questions, and offer feedback that City Manager T.C. Broadnax will consider in selecting the new director, as reported by the City of Austin. The chosen candidate will oversee shelter operations, lead animal control services, and promote public safety and animal welfare throughout Austin and Travis County.
