The Austin Police Department (APD) responded to the call at approximately 7:04 a.m., discovering the victim, identified as Walter Connor, a White male born on December 26, 1950. Despite rapid transport to a local hospital, Connor was pronounced deceased at 7:52 a.m., succumbing to the wounds inflicted upon him.
The suspect, 22-year-old Isaiah Jackson, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in this case. Jackson, who was one of the Connor's roommates, fled the scene before police arrived but returned shortly after, only to be taken into custody by the authorities. According to the APD, the initial investigation indicates that the victim suffered trauma from a stabbing. This incident marks a grim tally as the city's 52nd homicide of 2025.
Detectives from the APD's Homicide unit, along with Crime Scene Specialist,s were promptly on scene following the discovery of Mr. Connor. Their work centered on processing the crime scene and conducting interviews with potential witnesses to shed light on the circumstances leading to the fatal altercation.
