A recent auto theft incident in Austin has led detectives from the Austin Police Department Auto Theft Unit to seek public help in identifying multiple suspects believed to be involved in both stealing a vehicle and subsequent debit card abuse. According to the APD statement, the crime took place on December 5, 2025, with the suspects captured on security camera footage the following day, fraudulently using the victim's debit card at a business within the 8600 block of N FM 620.
Although the vehicle in question has luckily been recovered, the suspects remain at large. The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his late teens or early 20s, about 5’10” tall and 150 pounds, bearing a goatee and glasses. The second suspect, also a Hispanic male, is shorter at 5’8” tall, of average build, and is clean-shaven. The third suspect is a Hispanic female, and the last one is a black male with a beard. They were all last seen dressed predominantly in black, with the exception of the fourth suspect, who also wore a white shirt and white shoes.
The Austin Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward and has provided a contact for tips at the APD's Auto Theft unit. There is also an option to anonymously submit information through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program. Incentives for collaboration with the authorities include a possible reward of up to $1,000 for any tip that leads to an arrest in connection with the case.
Capital Area Crime Stoppers has made it relatively easy for witnesses or anyone with pertinent information to reach out, offering several avenues for contact, including a phone number and an online portal. As authorities work to piece together the events of December 5th and 6th, the community's input could be crucial. Photos and descriptions of the suspects have been circulated in the hope that someone will recognize them and contribute to restoring a measure of security to the affected area and individuals.
