An employee of the Baltimore County Fire Department is being investigated following allegations of inappropriate conduct while on duty. As reported by WBAL-TV, the nature of these allegations remains undisclosed to the public; however, a fire union representative has voiced a need for immediate action to ensure the safety of department members.
According to a report from WMAR-2 News, Steve Redmer, president of the Baltimore County Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 1311, described the purported behavior as a "serious breach of trust" and deemed it unacceptable within the fire department. Redmer emphasized that the well-being of firefighters and EMS clinicians is a priority, especially since they risk their lives during every shift. The union has urged the department to conduct a thorough assessment for any potential dangers and to take action by addressing any impacted areas and replacing compromised equipment where necessary.
While the Baltimore County Fire Department did confirm that an investigation is underway, they have remained tight-lipped regarding details, in alignment with their policy of not commenting on personal issues.
